First time to be combat focused Exiles of Embermark
Gunslinger Mobile and Wargaming Mobile have announced a strategic partnership which will see World of Tanks publisher Wargaming take on the publishing duties for Gunslinger's forthcoming mobile games.
Gunslinger are currently creating mobile-focused combat roleplaying titles, with their initial title being Exiles of Embermark, a multiplayer combat game which has two players duelling in one on one combat, with an esports flavour. For Wargaming, the deal enables them to bed down further into mobile development, an area they've not operated heavily in before this.
Gunslinger Studios was founded by Tim Harris, who has extensive experience in mobile games, particularly in the free to play monetisation, advertising and design areas. Harris was the founder of SMG Play and Seven Lights, before co-founding Industrial Toys, a mobile game studio, with Halo co-creator Alex Seropian in 2011. Harris is still involved with Industrial Toys, but it seems Gunslinger will have its own separate publisher and stable of games.
Gunslinger previously raised $1.4m in funding, back in 2016, for the purpose of working on Exiles of Embermark.
“Wargaming Mobile is thrilled to be partnering with Gunslinger Studios to publish upcoming mobile games,” said Keith Kawahata, head of Wargaming Mobile, in a statement announcing the deal.
“The team at Gunslinger Studios has really created something that we believe mobile gamers will truly enjoy, offering a quick and captivating experience on the go. We can’t wait to share additional details as development continues.”
Exiles of Embermark was due to release in 2017, but it now appears it will arrive in 2018.
